![]() ![]() If the vehicle fails one of these areas, it will not be acceptable for the road test. Items that will be inspected by the examiner are all lights, wipers, windshield washer fluid, mirrors, horn, seat belts, tires and lug nuts, speedometer, high mounted brake light, brakes, exhaust system, and windshield (cracks or damage). The vehicle must be in very good working condition. The vehicle must have a rear seat for the parent to use during the road portion of the test. Temporary Instructional Permit or Receipt with other country drivers license Valid Proof of Insurance (must bring proof) Valid Vehicle Registration (must bring proof) Practice Log (Minimum 50 hours with 10 hours nighttime driving) ![]() Segment 2 Driver Education Certificate (White old/new printed paper) Level 1 License (must have had for 6 months) It contains important information about obtaining your license. The Michigan Secretary of State offers the Road Test Study Guide for all information pertaining to the road test. The student must also have a segment 2 Driver Education Certificate. The test cannot be administered until that date. To be eligible for a road test, the student does not have to be sixteen (16) years old but they must have held their Level 1 Learners License for a minimum of 6 months.
